Job Description


:

The Network System Administrator will plan, design, develop, and launch systems to support core organizational functions and business processes. This position is responsible for generating and compiling reports with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. As a crucial member of the IT Team, the Network System Administrator will interact with all areas of the business, provide excellent customer service with a positive and professional attitude, and be a strong team player.

Responsibilities

  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Performs all critical data backups, secures data, and performs routine system audits.
  • Installs, configures and maintains IPS/IDS, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Malware, etc., for maximum internal network protection.
  • Manage and maintain the Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of cloud services, proactively identifying and resolving any issues to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base and ensure effective knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in various systems across the organization.
  • Create system design proposals.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in implementing decisions.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems and other post-implementation support.
  • Provide orientation and training to end-users for all modified and new systems.
  • Provide continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Installs, configures, tests and maintains servers, SAN, and related networking equipment.
Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Skill in promptly detecting, analyzing and resolving computer software and network problems.
  • Strong knowledge of patching methodologies and the ability to create new methods as required
  • Knowledge of Client-Server, Web-based and Office365, Azure, IaaS, and SaaS applications.
  • Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure).
  • Expertise in supporting applications and systems, including hardware and software.
  • Excellent knowledge of training theory and practices demonstrated by an ability to develop and deliver technical training and user documentation.
  • Ability to take ownership and lead department processes to support business growth.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to expand knowledge and skills to support ongoing learning.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalence in experience and education.
  • 5 years of IS-related experience in HPe Switching, Microsoft PowerBI/Apps, Microsoft Azure services, IaaS and PaaS, SQL Development, and system integration.
  • Minimum ITIL Foundation v3 Certification, additional ITIL certifications are considered an asset.
  • Experience with networking, routing, switching, Firewalls, VPN, LAN, WAN, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of Layer 2 and 3 network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of the following Infrastructure components: Telephony (Polycom), Servers (Cisco UCS), Storage (Synology), Network (HPe), Security and Client.
  • Knowledge in the administration and use of the following: Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, Windows 10\\11, VMware, and Exchange Online.
