Responsibility Level: Under general supervision, services and solves complex integrated security systems including access control, CCTV, digital video recording, intrusion, perimeter and other special systems integrated with the overall security system. Emphasis is on maintaining the highest level of availability of security systems and meeting customer expectations . Responsible for programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting integrated security systems, including servers, networks, GUI and endpoint devices. Provides timely response and resolution to critical and non-critical requests for service to mitigate penalty risk. Principal Duties:
  • Configures and maintains integrated security systems which utilizes Access Control, CCTV, Digital Video, Intrusion, and Perimeter as defined by the project specification or scope of work on projects while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Completes engineering to core engineering team standards. Makes use of existing systems library to ensure job is engineered with maximum efficiency. Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs. Participates in engineering release meeting with project field team.
  • Assists in retrofit and lifecycle projects as needed.
  • Reviews project submission package.
  • Modifies As-Built security system layouts and installation drawings when changes on site require.
  • Orders material from both internal sources and / or external vendors, and expedites as vital.
  • Obtains lead-time discounts when possible.
  • Coordinates factory-mounting processes.
  • Ensures timely delivery to appropriate locations.
  • Responsible for total system operation.
  • Troubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure accurate operation
  • Performs static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) security system testing independently. Configures operator workstations and all required software. Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, decade boxes, network terminals and/or a lap top computer.
  • Communicates with Johnson Controls project management and / or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Keeps customer informed on progress. Reviews customer\xe2\x80\x99s systems and, if needed, points out other areas of improvement.
  • Keeps management informed of customer concerns and issues.
  • Builds the JCI knowledge database by means of meticulous and accurate documentation of security systems.
  • Performs site-specific training for owner / operator on the total system. Communicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub-contractors as required.
  • A dheres to safety standards, local and national security codes.
  • High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Adheres to all JCI policies while carrying out duties.
  • Attends all technical certification training for Security Systems products including 3rd-party partners.
  • May assist sales in development of cost estimate on complex projects if an estimating resource is not available.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • T wo years related experience required or an Associates degree.
  • Two years experience within the security industry strongly required. Consideration will also be given to individuals with substantial proven experience.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills while representing the company to customers and other outside contacts.
  • Able to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
