Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology or the designate, the Network & Server Administrator is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and on-going monitoring of the hospital's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of both personal and server class computers, as well as network infrastructure. This role requires expertise in PCs, servers, TCP/IP, LANs, WANs, security technologies, Citrix, and VMWare. Additionally, the Network Server & Administrator provides technical support and guidance to all members of the Information Technology Department.
The applicant must possess in-depth knowledge of all MS Windows Servers versions, as well as Windows client versions. A strong understanding of Active Directory, Citrix XenApp Server, Vmware ESXi, Storage Array Network, MS SCCM, MS SCOM, MDM Platforms, MS SQL Server, EndPoint Protection, Virtual Private Networks, Exchange Server, Firewalls, disaster recovery, MS 365, and all data and IP-based voice communications is essential. Additionally, the individual will assist in ensuring the reliable operation of the Hospitals Telecommunications Phone System. Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, VMWare would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and optimize local and wide area networks to ensure optimal performance
Install hardware and software upgrades on servers
Diagnose and resolve server hardware and software issues
Test and document standard server and network related workstation configurations, and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including disaster recovery and maintenance procedures
Provide ongoing support for in-house users and remote site locations, evaluating overall system performance and monitoring day-to-day activity on all workstations and servers
Qualifications:
Community College diploma in Information Technology and/or a University degree, or equivalent education and experience
Minimum seven (7) years of experience working in a large Healthcare Organization is required
Hands-on technical expertise in network systems, protocols, and standards is required, along with proficiency in Meditech MIS, HP/Compaq, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft networking services
Experience with a Meditech Client Server environment is considered an asset
Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, a high technical aptitude, and ability to learn new technologies are essential
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact patiently and effectively with a diverse range of employees
The IT Department provides 24/7 supports to its users. Availability to work on-call on a rotational basis is required, along with occasional evening or weekend work
