SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for network management, firewalls, LAN / WAN architecture, security (intrusion prevention), corporate directory and virtualization and IP addressing for all Optel sites across various countries. He acts as the third line of support and actively participates in the IT projects of the IT Department.

Under the supervision of the IT infrastructure and project team leader and the IT Department, in collaboration with his teammates and stakeholders, the network administrator supports specialized operations in line with his responsibilities and actively participates in large-scale projects to support the growth of the organization. Computer security being very important especially in the context where the number of cyber attacks continues to increase, the incumbent of this position in collaboration with the security team, will have to ensure network monitoring via several tools and ensure the implementation of security standards. In addition, the incumbent will have to manage the systems in an environment based on an IaaS cloud architecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administration and implementation of VPN / LAN / WAN / WIFI / Security network solutions;
  • Determination of network specifications to meet the organization's needs in terms of security and performance;
  • Participate in network architecture and network-related project design processes;
  • Participate in various implementation, update, overhaul and optimization projects of corporate networks;
  • Analyze and optimize network performance;
  • Perform research, recommendations and documentation for the design of solution and creation of various telecommunications networks (firewalls, VPNs, WAN accelerators, load balancers, routers, switches, WiFi equipment);
  • Install, configure, support and maintain network infrastructures;
  • Establish best practices and procedures in all aspects of network operations;
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures associated with network management;
  • Monitor and plan the performance of telecommunications network services;
  • Identify, record, analyze and resolve incidents / problems and service interruptions of telecommunications networks;
  • Configure and maintain wireless network switches, routers and controllers;
  • Work with external vendors and service providers to develop, evaluate and integrate technological improvements and new features;
  • Monitor and plan and implement the required updates;
  • Prepare hardware and / or software configurations;
  • Perform all operational functions associated with network environments including, wireless access, monitoring, network performance management and troubleshooting network related issues;
  • Configuration and administration of servers, computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP telephony, software deployment, security updates, VPN, etc;
  • Participate in network level customer support and take charge of tickets that have escalated to level 3 affecting the network;
  • Continuous improvement of the network by monitoring performance, including availability, usage, etc;
  • Define and implement global standards for networking and equipment configuration;
  • Perform daily routine tasks such as processing network related alerts (events or incidents);
  • Design of administration, configuration, interface and routing protocols.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Recognized training in networking and security;
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience;
  • Bilingualism (French-English);
  • Experience with the main types of telecommunications equipment from large manufacturers (firewalls, VPNs, WAN accelerators, load balancers, routers, switches, WiFi equipment);
  • Knowledge of Advanced TCP / IP Networks-Expert;
  • Knowledge of corporate wireless networks;
  • Knowledge of Fortinet security products;
  • Knowledge of VMware;
  • Good knowledge of Cloud providers;
  • Practical experience in writing technological documentation;
  • CCNA training or certification, a plus;
  • In-depth knowledge of systems and networks architecture concepts and techniques;
  • Good knowledge of technologies, protocols and tools of communication and telecommunication systems;
  • Have good knowledge of Active Directory, MS Azure, AZURE AD, Office 365, Terminal server, VMware, VPN, http, SSL, PowerShell, GPO, Windows server and Veeam backup software;
  • Manage projects with a remote team.
