JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Director of Information Systems, the Network Administrator manages the network and all information and communication technologies, in order to guarantee the security and protection of information, a permanent access and a constant quality of service. In addition, he/she supports the users of information technology, thereby contributing to the realization of the role's mission: to provide the various users with integrated, effective, efficient and economical information systems to support the company's operations, management and decision-making.
YOUR MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
  • Ensure the operation of the network and all information and communication technologies (mainly computer equipment, network and telecommunications) so that permanent access and a constant quality of service are guaranteed;
  • Maintain systems, network and telecommunications software;
  • Collaborate in the planning of hardware and software needs, and monitor the evolution of the overall system load;
  • Develop, document and maintain network architectures and hardware evolution plan;
  • Assist in the optimal use of software and hardware by providing expertise and support tools for application development and operation;
  • Provide operational support to users.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
  • Manage the local network and the information technology park;
  • Apply network security (network access, firewall, antivirus, etc.), except application systems (ERP);
  • Correct system incidents;
  • Perform and track changes to hardware, software and network configurations;
  • Install, configure and maintain equipment and software;
  • Ensure the monitoring and maintenance of backups;
  • Train users in the proper use of IT resources;
  • Provide support with the use of dedicated server functions (Server: file and printer, email, WEB, fax, EDI, etc.);
  • Update the network architecture, develop modifications and prepare quotes as needed;
  • Perform first-hand operational support (problems), i.e. support of hardware, software and applications without modifications to programs and architecture;
  • Intervene as needed in communications between computer hardware and industrial equipment (industrial computing);
  • Act as a resource person for all of the company’s staff;
  • Perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:
  • College diploma in computer science or training or experience deemed necessary;
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset;
  • Mastery of French and functional English.
