The Network Administrator is a key participant on a high-performance team responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of network hardware software and related infrastructure.
The candidate must be a team player possessing excellent customer service and communication skills. You must also be able to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, enjoy problem solving, have good organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have the flexibility to perform multiple tasks at once. This role requires a VERY strong communicator.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Working with Sr. Network Administrator to plan, test, deploy and maintain network infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the IT team members to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of organization services to meet business demands.
  • Ensure network infrastructure is functioning within pre-defined operating levels and supports all proactive tuning activities.
  • Participate on technical projects in the review and implementation of new systems, applications, and hardware as well as computer network.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for the organization\xe2\x80\x99s network environment including hardware configurations, software licenses, maintenance agreements, network diagrams and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain and test current backups of all network infrastructure configurations.
  • Manage support incidents and service requests as assigned. Resolving tickets escalated from Service desk.
  • Perform maintenance and release upgrades on a timely basis or as needed.
  • Monitor network performance and capacity in the areas of responsiveness, throughput, and availability.
  • Perform analysis of LAN/WAN requirements and contribute to design of LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions.
  • Install, configure, and administer hardware and software systems that provide appropriate network security functionality,
  • Assist in maintaining and testing business continuity/disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures necessary to recover services in the event of a declared disaster
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of technical solutions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform IT administrative duties as delegated.
  • Travel to SDR facilities as required.
  • On-call Rotation

Qualifications, Education and Experience Required:

  • University or College Degree in a related IT discipline
  • CCNA or comparable Networking Certification
  • Must have a valid Ontario Drivers license and a clean driving record
  • 3 years of demonstrated hands-on experience supporting a large scale, mission critical enterprise infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 3 years hands on managing Cisco Firewall infrastructures
  • Minimum of 3 years hands on managing HP/Aruba switch infrastructures
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting large Campus Wi-Fi solutions
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • No fear of heights in order to operate bucket truck or various lifts to conduct installations
  • Strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of network tools used in supporting multiplatform LAN/WLAN/WAN environments
  • Experience documenting systems, processes, and proactively sharing and communicating complex technical information.
