Now open on the Halifax waterfront in the new Queen's Marque district, Mystic explores the natural landscape of Canada with a focus on our Maritime provinces. Here, Chef Malcolm Campbell, who developed a passion for haute cuisine and refined techniques in Michelin-starred settings, and his team are passionate about showcasing the region's most exceptional fish, flora and fauna curating an authentic expression of time and place.



Mystic is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join our fine dining culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of attention to detail with extreme focus on the minutiae, from plating aesthetics to portion sizing and will understand flavor balance, textures, and presentation in line with haute cuisine standards.



What you'll be doing:



performing delegated tasks from Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager; maintaining high levels of food quality, consistency, and presentation at all times; following recipes, portion controls and presentation specification as set by the restaurant; maintaining a prep list of station duties; following the FIFO method to maximize freshness; training, mentoring and coaching junior staff, fostering teamwork and growth; assisting in food inventory and control; assisting in properly receiving and storing delivered items; cleaning food prep areas, equipment, utensils and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines; strictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines;

What we are looking for someone with:



3+ years cooking experience in a upscaling or fine dining restaurant; a culinary diploma/degree is a strong asset; a passion for food & culinary excellence; an understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills; the ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure; the ability to spend 100% of the time standing.
