About the Opportunity
The role of the Music Therapist will be to support the hospice and community based palliative care programs in the Annapolis Valley to promote relaxation and well-being for patients. There is a dual reporting responsibility to the Health Services Manager for Valley Hospice as well as the Annapolis Valley Community Palliative Care team. The Music Therapist provides compassionate care that respects human dignity and acknowledges the various abilities of patients. The Music Therapist collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, guided by the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Music Therapists (set by the Canadian Association for Music Therapy). The Music Therapist demonstrates sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the established philosophy, guidelines, policies, and procedures of the organization.
