Contingent upon approval of a government funding request, the Bayham Historical Society is seeking two qualified persons for the position of Museum Attendant at The Edison, Vienna & Area Museum
6209 Plank Road, Vienna, ON, N0J 1Z0 Rate of pay will be $15.50 per hour. Weekend and holiday hours are required. One position to run from May 15 to Sept 4, 2023.

Contract length: 16 weeks Salary: Up to $15.50 per hour Benefits:

The other to run from May 15 to June 27, 2023. Tasks and Responsibilities
- act as a museum tour guide during the hours the museum is open to the public
- operate the museum in other activities such as: develop and organize displays; research historical artifacts; register and track visitors; collect admission fees; and donations; light daily housekeeping and grounds maintenance
- assist with collection artifact and/or document cataloguing and data entry
- post-secondary education related to culture, history, education, and/or tourism and recreation
- experience in museum related work or volunteering an asset (e.g., cataloguing, exhibits and delays)
- demonstrable strengths in research, writing, and displays
- excellent communication skills, customer relation skills and experience working with volunteers and the public of all ages
- strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, and Excel
- ability to work with minimal supervision; work independently; and work in a team setting
- Standard First Aid and CPR training are an asset
- reliable transportation is required
- provision of a police records check, if requested
- must be able to attend mandatory Student Orientation Training on Monday, June 5, 2023
