AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Wastewater Engineer/Project Coordinator for employment at a project for a large municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant in Toronto, Ontario. The position would be field based at first and then could become office based.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer the appropriately qualified candidate will assist with the coordination between the plant operations staff, contractor and consultant.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordination of and preparation of responses to RFIs
• Submittal review.
• Preparation of Change Orders
• Coordination of and preparation of design modifications.
• Resolving field issues
• Preparing for and participating in meetings.
• Reporting daily activities
• Liaise with overall plant operations and assist in planning and coordination of operation of wastewater plant with the overall SSO operations
• Co-ordination and monitoring of minor construction and modification activities
• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to municipal wastewater treatment design and construction administration activities. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
• Work under supervision of a project manager, construction manager or senior-level team member
• Perform municipal wastewater treatment plant site investigations, data collection and analysis activities.
• Prepare technical memoranda, contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports.
• Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies.
• Participate in wastewater engineering/process design activities including preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications and cost estimates.
• Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with coordination tasks.
• Participate in commissioning services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
• Troubleshooting of process issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachleor\'s Degree from a recognized college or university in civil, mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering, or equivalent alternate + 4 years of relevant experience
• Proficient in the use of desktop computational tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, etc
• Must possess valid Ontario Class G Driving license
• Strong oral communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong written skills need to support development of technical reports and specifications
• Eligible for Engineer in Training (EIT) license by PEO

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to multi-task on several projects concurrently
• Previous treatment plant or construction experience
