What you will do:





Reporting to the Manager, Licensing and Standards, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


Enforce the regulations of the Snow and Ice By-law on all city sidewalks through the issuance of orders and tickets and by facilitating sidewalk clean-ups When violations are observed, interact directly with person(s) to ensure compliance with by-laws is achieved Manually and electronically record information/facts with respect to investigation Enforce parking restrictions on all city streets, private property, and City parking lots through the issuance of penalty notices (parking tickets) Provide back-up to other enforcement officers as required

What you will bring:




Post-secondary diploma in Police Foundations, Law and Security or equivalent with two (2) years experience in municipal law enforcement, security and/or other municipal operations; an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, to deal effectively with the public in a non-confrontational manner Strong attention to detail with the ability to properly complete documentation Strong task management skills and ability to complete work within deadlines Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong keyboarding skills Valid MTO 'G' class driver's licence in good standing with driver's abstract acceptable to the City (maximum of 3 demerit points; maximum of 2 convictions within the previous 36 months; no driving related criminal code convictions within the previous 36 months; and no ignition interlock restrictions) is required to perform the job. Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain A passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service Demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion

A Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City Proof of your current and valid certificate(s), licenses and/or educational qualifications, if applicable
