Job Description
The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from individuals interested in instructing laboratories in the following Biology courses in the 2023-24 Academic Year.
Fall Courses:
Current Issues in Environmental Biology (Bio 1010), Introductory Microbiology for Health Sciences (Bio 1060) Human Anatomy (Bio 1210)/Human Anatomy & Histology (Bio 2260), Genes, Cells and Macromolecules (Bio 1310), Zoology (Bio 2040), Ecology (Bio 2220), Research Methods and Communications in Biology (Bio 3310), Intro Physiology of Cells and Organisms (Bio 3260),
Winter Courses:
Human Physiology (Bio 1220), Organisms & Their Environment (Bio 1320), Botany (Bio 2020), Microbiology (Bio 2060), Cell & Molecular Biology (Bio 2210), Genetics I (Bio 2230)/Human Genetics (Bio 2240), Molecular Biology Research Techniques (Bio 3520), Conservation Genetics (Bio 4130), Environmental Toxicology (Bio 4850)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrating, assisting or instructing, conducting tutorials, and marking exams and assignments
- The successful applicant will be required to participate on a weekly basis for the duration of the winter semester
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology or a similar program
- Applicants must possess good communication skills
- Be WHMIS trained or be willing to take the training
