About the role: This role is perfect for someone who is seeking to join a team of driven and entrepreneurial professionals in the Mortgage industry, wants to work closely with senior management and build on their skill set. The Funding Specialist, will be an integral part of the Funding Operations team, with a primary focus on delivering exceptional service to our borrowers by way of closing mortgages in a timely and efficient manner. Superior communication, attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills are essential for this position. Strive offers a flexible work environment including a hybrid working arrangement based in Toronto, ON. Your day to day will include:

• Ensure mortgages are advanced on scheduled closing dates
• Reconcile excess funds to be returned to investors
• Act as first line audit to ensure accuracy of broker commissions
• Work closely with Credit Operations and Strive\xe2\x80\x99s closing agent to ensure mortgage advance dates are accurate in the internal loan origination system as well as the mortgage closing portal
• Review mortgage closing documents and provide exceptions on requirements for closing
• Follow up with solicitors for Final Reports outstanding as required
• Investigate and flag files based on risk
• Provide payout statements and discharges to requesting parties within applicable time frames
• Audit boarding sheets and provide documentation to third parties as required
• Special projects as assigned by management
• Maintain employee, customer and partner confidentiality as described by Strive\xe2\x80\x99s Employee Code of Conduct Policy

You will bring:

• 2+ years of Residential Mortgage experience in a Servicing or Pre-Funding Capacity
• Advanced knowledge of mortgage products, terms and funding and servicing documentation
• Capacity to work in a team environment while also managing responsibilities independently
• Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit
• Previous mortgage funding experience considered an asset
• Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset
