The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive experience providing case management support with occupational and non-occupational employee injury and illness. You have experience working in a unionized, multi-site environment, preferably in a healthcare setting, with the ability to interpret multiple collective agreements, apply human resources best practices and human rights legislation.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or college diploma in human resources management, business administration or a regulated health care field or equivalent
  • Certified Disability Management Professional designation strongly preferred or willing to achieve
  • Professional and practiced knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g., Human Rights Codes, NB Occupational Health and Safety Act, NB Workers Compensation Act
  • High regard for confidentiality and ethical comportment
  • Can effectively deal with contentious situations and negotiate positive results
  • Proactive, self-starting and results driving; taking initiative and ownership of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Customer-focused and compassionate
  • Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; Parklane software usage an asset
  • Able to travel throughout the organization as required
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. French considered an asset.What you will doAs a valued member of our team, you will:
  • carry out the objectives of the workplace disability support program.
  • manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • create, coordinate, implement and monitor early/safe stay-at-work and return-to-work plans.
  • evaluate employee skills, abilities and medical employment limitations/restrictions pertaining to job functions.
  • manage the disability accommodation process and facilitate individual accommodation plans in accordance with Human Rights legislation.
  • act as liaison and provide disability expertise, guidance and recommendations to various stakeholders including workers, management, human resource advisors, attendance support consultants, and union representatives.
  • consult with external stakeholders such as healthcare providers, WorkSafeNB, Long Term Disability and private insurers.
  • keep comprehensive case management documentation.
  • identify and act on disability trends with the purpose of resolving barriers to full participation in the workplace.
  • be committed to continuous learning, especially HR trends and case law reviews.
