We come from diverse backgrounds to work together on our mission for better health care with cutting-edge technologies for precision diagnostics. https://www.funglyn.ca/ Job description We are currently seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in molecular biology or relevant fields to join our team. We are looking for a teammate that is proficient at literature search, planning and executing experiments, and performing various molecular biology laboratory techniques. You will have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design and develop products that will shape our healthcare. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with minimal supervision, perform comprehensive literature reviews relating to microfluidics and CRISPR technology.
  • Critically analyze findings to draft scientific strategies and plans toward making practical and visible products.
  • Perform nucleic acid extraction and purification, primer and probe design, qPCR assay validation and other relevant duties as needed in bioanalytical assay development.
  • Acquire and interpret data to provide insightful findings that drive the direction of future research.
  • Write reports detailing protocols, prototypes, functions, and manufacture considerations, and other information relating to the assay development process.
  • Deliver and contribute original research and literature review presentations during groupmeetings.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to deliver results on different projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or other related scientific fields
  • 5 years of experience working on projects related to PCR/qPCR-based detection and assay design/development is required.
  • Experience working on projects related to CRISPR-based diagnostic platforms and/or microfluidics would be a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and critically analyze prior literature and author technical procedures for experiments is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Experience in low-flow, high-precision liquid handling and pressure sensor systems is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with machines and hand tools is an asset.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
