$70,683.48 - $89,678.84 annually plus 3% Recruitment and Retention Adjustment The Mines, Competitiveness and Authorizations Division is responsible for developing and regulating the thriving, globally competitive, safe and environmentally responsible exploration and mining sector, significantly benefiting all British Columbians. The Mineral Assessment Geoscientist is responsible for the provincial collection of assessment reports submitted by explorationists to maintain tenure in good standing, as required by the Mineral Tenure Act. This position applies a technical understanding of diverse geological, geophysical, geochemical, mineral, coal and placer exploration techniques to judge the suitability and evaluate the validity of reported work and costs. The position ensures the assessment reports comply with statutory requirements and decides if reports submitted are accepted, rejected or returned for revisions. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
