We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking two (2) Mine Rescue Leads to join our Health, Safety, and Risk (HSR) Department in Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation.This is a permanent on-site position, working a 2 week on 2 week off rotation (day and night shift) at our remote Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Site.As a Mine Rescue Lead you will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the mine rescue plan, acquisition and maintenance of supporting emergency response equipment, and recruitment, training and leadership of mine rescue team members to ensure that Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Operations are adequately prepared for underground and surface emergency response and capable of protecting people, property and the environment. Your experience and skills will allow you to ensure that the mine rescue is adequately established and incorporated into the Crisis Management System, as well as ensure that the mine rescue structure, training and capabilities for the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay underground mine expansion meets legislative requirements for the province of NL.Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Coordinate and deliver training requirements and manage team schedule;
  • Maintain mine rescue equipment to applicable legislative requirements;
  • Monitor progress and coach team members through practical and theoretical training;
  • Assist in auditing of mine emergency response plan and life safety systems;
  • Review, update and maintain emergency response plans and systems;
  • Support the management team on all aspects of the crisis management processes for the site (ie EMQ Net Crisis Management System).
  • Assume the position of incident command in the event of an emergency situation on site.
About YouEducation:
  • A minimum of a college diploma in a related field is required.
  • Mine Rescue or NFPA 1041 Instructor preferred.
  • First Aid Instructor as asset.
  • Incident command systems 100/200 an asset.
  • Confined Space, Technical Rope Rescue an asset.
  • Level 1 Firefighter or NFPA 1081 \xe2\x80\x93 if Mine Rescue certified an asset.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role is required.
Skills:
  • Leadership and facilitation experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to work in a diverse and remote environment.
