: Emergency Response /Mine Rescue Team Coordinator
We are seeking dedicated and highly motivated individuals to lead our client's Emergency Response Team and program. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the project during emergencies and critical situations. Your quick thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong teamwork skills will be essential in effectively responding to various emergencies, mitigating risks, and providing support to those in need. The mine is both surface and Underground operations and you will be responsible to manage both aspects of Mine rescue.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate current emergency preparedness programs for both underground and surface response and perform gap analysis as compared to , regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Develop and coordinate site training opportunities for all levels of response including the incident management team, instructors, and the responders.
Create action plans following gap analysis to ensure all required improvements are tracked to completion.
Revise all current documentation with respect to emergency preparedness to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Working closely with Safety department to ensure all training requirements are identified and met.
Ensure upkeep of the preventative maintenance program, coordination of maintenance schedules to reduce downtime while maintaining health and safety standards and troubleshooting process maintenance issues.
Responsible for compiling daily reports to reflect accurate record of work performed as well as cross shift notes to ensure smooth transition between contracts.
Risk Mitigation
Identify potential risks and hazards at the mine and work collaboratively to develop strategies for minimizing these risks. Implement preventive measures and contribute to the continuous improvement of emergency response plans.
Collaboration
Coordinate closely with other team members (emergency services, security, and safety personnel), as well as project Owner representatives to ensure a seamless and coordinated response during emergencies. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for successful outcomes.
Training and Preparedness
Plan and lead training sessions, simulations, and drills to maintain a high level of readiness. Stay up-to-date with the latest emergency response techniques, protocols, and technologies to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Safety Inspections
Contribute to life safety inspections, including tasks such as checking extinguishers, AEDs, and First Aid Kits. Perform safety inspections, assist with investigations, and orientation sessions to enhance overall safety awareness.
Equipment Maintenance
Regularly inspect and assist with the maintenance of emergency response equipment, ensuring that it is in optimal working condition. Report any issues or deficiencies for prompt resolution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Additional relevant certifications and training in emergency response, disaster management, first aid, or related fields are preferred.
- NFPA 1001 or NFPA 1081 certification.
- PCP (PRIMARY CARE PARAMEDIC) or higher certification.
- NFPA 1006 Operations certification.
- NFPA 1072 Operations certification.
- ICS (Incident Command System) training would be beneficial.
3-5 year of prior experience in emergency response, public safety, firefighting, medical services, mine rescue or a related field is preferred.

Schedule and Availability
2 weeks on, 2 weeks off and willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as emergencies can occur at any time. Travel expenses paid by company.
Physical Requirements
The role may involve physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and assisting individuals in distress, you will be required to wear air supplying units such as BG4s and SCBA.
