Job Description


Our client is a leader in the energy sector and they are seeking a skilled, knowledgeable and self-driven Journeyperson or 4th year apprentice Millwright Mechanic to join their Calgary team. Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose issues and provide technical hands-on assistance by email or phone with remote clients.
  • Perform routine and preventative daily equipment repairs involving bench work in a machine shop setting.
  • Able to trouble shoot and determine root cause analysis of pumps and mixers.
  • Collect, document and maintain data using various measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of the use of measuring tools and proper care techniques.
  • Coordinate and/or perform Installation and Commissioning services.
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures on rotating equipment, emergency service as well as warranty work; maintain records of repairs on equipment.
  • Initiate recommendations for improved procedures and devices required for service repair operations.
  • Communicate effectively, and embrace training and mentoring from supervisors.
  • Work in the Calgary shop with the flexibility to travel within Alberta for customer site visits is required.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role (preferably in Oil and Gas, Food and Beverage or Industrial industries).
  • Journeyman Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic certificate (will consider 4th year applicants).
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a self-starter.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.
  • Forklift Certification & H2S Alive.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
  • Must have own transportation, valid Class 5 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
  • Open to drug and alcohol testing and background check.
  • Must have your own hand tools; power tools, lathes and other machining tools will be provided.
