Based at our Saskatoon plant location, we are hiring a permanent, full time Mill Room Operator is responsible for operating the mill and loading/unloading meal, choice white grease, and feed fat. Other responsibilities of this role include cleaning the mill room and transload equipment, loadout area, transload area, and workspace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Load meals into trucks, containers, bags, totes and hopper cars Load choice white grease and feed fat into tanker trucks and tanker cars Ensure all Critical Control Points (CCP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) are followed Ensure daily log sheets are completed accurately Operate all machinery associated with mill room and loadout areas Mill, weigh, sample, record, and process delivery slips on loads Clean the mill room, loadout, transload, silo areas, conveying systems and other equipment and workspaces Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values Maintain a high standard of safety and cleanliness within all areas of the plant

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract Previous experience in a similar production environment or industry is preferred Experience with operating skid-steers, forklifts and/or other mobile equipment is an asset Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills Mechanically inclined Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products Ability to multitask, trouble shoot, and solve process related issues Ability to work effectively alone as well as part of a team
