Job Description

Welder

In this job you will be responsible for fitting and welding together parts according to drawings and procedures using a wide range of metals and alloys for complicated subassemblies and assemblies involving coinciding requirements for high strength, pressure and aesthetics.

As a Welder you will:

Assemble, align, square up and tack weld a variety of complicated subassemblies and assemblies using B/Ms, steel tape, straight edge, squarer, clamps, jacks fixtures, templates and similar equipment Fit part using torch or carbon arc or hand grinding equipment to facilitate alignment and assembly Set up and regulate pressure for oxyacetylene torch Select electrode size and type, tips and welding rod or wire as required Regulate gas for proper atmospheric control, current and voltage for proper penetration and fusing of metals Check and straighten gasket surfaces and grind excess weld from finished work Lay out and secure work which may involve heavy parts and assemblies Regulate current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion of similar and dissimilar metals Perform Mig/Tig Welding as required Perform preventive maintenance procedures as needed Provide personal tools as required Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of welding tasks as needed Inspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation Document actions by completing production and quality forms

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience with safely using small hand and power tools, measuring tools, air tools and welding equipment Experience with reading and interpreting Drawings and Bills of Material Basic computer skills Experience with Mig and Tig welding CWB certification is an asset 2+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience At least one year of formal welding training or the equivalent level of experience Three years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment Experience using overhead crane and operating counterbalance forklifts (valid license is an asset) Familiarity with shop welding tools and equipment including but not limited to welding machines, grinders, sanders, and power drills. The ability to work under pressure, perform complex tasks, and meet deadlines The ability to attain precise standards and attention to detail The ability to work independently and in a team setting, and controlling and planning own workload

Shift:

This is a day shift position running Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs Frequent pushing and pulling Repetitive hand activity, including gripping, grasping, pinching, and fine finger movement

Work Environment:

Noisy environment Exposure to heat, vibration and moving objects, including forklifts, cranes, machines and equipment Electromagnetic fields and fumes coming from welding process and materials Sharp edges from frame parts, casting and materials

What we offer you:

Pay Range is typically

between $22.60 to $30.77 per hour
