Job Description


BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Metrology Steward Student. This is a 4 month term (May- August) position located in Charlottetown, PEI. The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing instrument calibrations and basic-level preventative and reparative maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
  • Assisting in the updating of SOPs.
  • Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.
  • Following the company\xe2\x80\x99s quality standard (quality management system procedures and cGMP regulations).
  • Complying with documented safety practices for the laboratory and the manufacturing facilities, particularly DPQC0033, SOP for Analytical Services Laboratories Safety Policies.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science.
  • Experience in working with analytical instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of analytical methodology including: weighing, spectroscopy.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Good mathematical competency in arithmetic and basic algebra.
