Reporting to the Manager of Business Case Development & Reporting, the Portfolio Reporting Analyst plays a key role in enabling enterprise-wide planning and decision-making through integrated portfolio analytics and reporting. This role focuses on developing and maintaining analytical tools, dashboards, and models that consolidate data from multiple systems to provide accurate, timely, and actionable insights. The Analyst supports the development of portfolio management processes within the Portfolio Lifecycle framework across EPS business areas. They conduct process assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement, develop detailed process maps, workflows, SOPs, and metrics to measure performance, and provide detailed reporting. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytically minded professional who thrives on transforming complex data into meaningful insights and driving process improvements that support organizational effectiveness across all business areas. Responsibilities include:
Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting tools and dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and Smartsheet to support the full portfolio lifecycle.
Integrate data from multiple systems to ensure accurate, current, and comprehensive reporting for strategic planning and decision-making.
Coordinate data collection and validation efforts across business areas to support enterprise-wide portfolio performance measurement.
Translate complex data into actionable insights using effective data visualization techniques tailored to diverse audiences.
Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and develop business analysis products like Smartsheet dashboards and reports.
Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing notes to communicate findings to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Manage recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements for internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
Design, build, and maintain analytical models and templates that support enterprise-wide data analysis and forecasting.
Leverage tools such as Power BI, Excel, and SharePoint to automate and streamline reporting processes.
Implement system requirements based on portfolio design, develop process maps, and document detailed workflows and SOPs.
Maintain and update the project portfolio lifecycle process in Smartsheet, ensuring it meets EPS business requirements.
Support the execution of other branch priority initiatives and strategic projects.
Oversee the effective completion of deliverables by other team members or contributors on assigned initiatives.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
:University Degree (Master's preferred) in Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum of four (4) years' work experience in business analysis and/or project management.
Proficient in managing complex projects that require collaboration with diverse stakeholders, while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The incumbent will demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable reporting and analytic materials with strong synthesis, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data from feedback, outcomes, and outputs to develop portfolio reporting tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to break down complex concepts, while forming collaborative partnerships that engage various levels within the organization.
A results-oriented individual who is conscientious about the quality of their work, capable of working across the organization, making independent decisions, managing projects, and presenting findings. The incumbent will promote teamwork and cooperation to resolve conflicts and achieve organizational objectives.
Advanced proficiency in Smartsheet and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (graphing and Pivot Tables).
Proficiency in process mapping and system optimization, ensuring efficient workflows and enhanced operational performance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization.

Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.
Salary Range:
21M, Salary Grade: 030, $48.767 - $61.623 (Hourly), $3,291.80 - $4,159.60(Bi-Weekly), $85,915 - 108,564 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
