Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), the Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst supports our company\xe2\x80\x99s growth by contributing to our strategic acquisition efforts through sourcing, evaluating, and execution when opportunities come to fruition.

Job Duties:

  • Identify, research, and evaluate potential acquisition targets and assist in managing the M&A pipeline
  • Analyze financial statements and operational metrics
  • Develop financial models to assist in valuing potential targets, identifying synergies and projecting post-close performance
  • Assist in preparing acquisition reporting and strategic growth planning communication with leadership and board members
  • Coordinate, plan and perform various due diligence procedures of potential targets
  • Oversee data rooms
  • Coordinate with outside legal, financial, environmental, insurance, tax and operational consultants and advisors
  • Review asset and share purchase agreements, non-compete agreements, employment agreements and other legal documentation as required
  • Support contract negotiations
  • Facilitate integration process with team members throughout the organization
  • Track post-close performance and communicate results with management and board
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time
Knowledge, Experience and Skill:
  • Undergraduate degree, ideally in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • CPA designation
  • Basic knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax system
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting, corporate development, private equity, investment banking or management consulting with previous M & A experience as a must
  • Experience analyzing company financial statements and building financial models
  • Strong organization skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to effectively work with all levels of staff from clerical to C - Suite
  • Ability to manage time efficiently while managing multiple tasks
  • High attention to detail
  • Ambitious nature with a high sense of integrity
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
