Job Description

The Opportunity:
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for high-level strategic inventory planning and forecasting for both Livestock and Size?. This person will work closely with buying, sales and finance departments to ensure sales goals are achieved by anticipating customer demand, ensuring delivery of product to appropriate stores and analyzing opportunities for improvement.

The Responsibilities:

• Manage the development of annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly merchandise strategies in cost of goods and units
• Analyze brick & mortar and online sales, profitability and conversion to inform and influence merchandising team\xe2\x80\x99s decisions
• Monitor business climate, application, and competition
• Actively participate in assortment development and review, providing data and analysis to support decision-making
• Collaborate on best strategies to address product liabilities and develop action plans to liquidate in a timely and profitable manner such as cancels, RTVs, and markdown
• Provide periodic reporting on business performance
• Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
• Ensure tailored selection of products for new stores are available for opening to boost sales performance and create hype
• Work with Marketing and Content departments to develop in-store and e-commerce promotional strategies
• Partner with all cross functional departments outside of merchandising

The Requirements:

• Post-secondary education, preferably with a sales or marketing background
• 3+ years of retail experience
• 2+ years of merchandise allocation experience
• Possess an innate understanding of inventory management, merchandise planning and supply chain in a retail environment
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Entrepreneurship \xe2\x80\x93 an ability to make decisions and take calculated risks
• Experience in data analysis and Microsoft office software, specifically excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and goal-oriented individual
