Your Opportunity:This position works from the Adult Addiction and Mental Health Community Clinic located at the Provincial Building in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The Mental Health Therapist works with adult clients in Medicine Hat. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic individual to work as a Mental Health Therapist - Generalist. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform short-term counselling utilizing a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with adult clients experiencing addictions and mental health issues.Description:As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:Master\'s degree in Psychology; or master\'s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master\'s or bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master\'s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and counselling/psychotherapy. Related Master\'s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of /counselling/psychotherapy or b) considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Diploma or bachelor\'s degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of counselling/psychotherapy. Individual or under supervision authorization to do mental health psycho-social intervention is required. Registration with one of the following regulatory colleges: ACOT, ACSW, CAP, CLPNA, CRNA or CRPNA is required.
