The Fort Saskatchewan Addiction & Mental Health Community Clinic is seeking an Addiction & Mental Health Therapist (AMHT) to join our small but mighty team. In this role, you will be providing addiction and mental health assessment, treatment planning and case management for children and youth in the Fort Saskatchewan area. This position offers the opportunity to grow and have a big impact on the life trajectory of children and youth and their families and it supports community connection. The AMHT provides mental health assessment, treatment, case coordination, crisis intervention & consultation to children, youth & their families experiencing psychological, emotional, social, substance misuse or behavioral difficulties. This position may also facilitate groups &/or Walk-In sessions within the larger Children, Youth & Families Addiction and Mental Health portfolio. The therapist works as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing services within the clinic setting as well as working collaboratively with community partners. The therapist will provide services from a family centered, concurrent capable care framework, addressing the needs across the continuum of care. We currently offer services during daytime hours; however, we may expand hours to include weekends &/or evenings. To be successful in this role, you will have strong organization skills and thrive on being self-directed in your work. You will have adept communication and assessment skills, and be comfortable navigating potential complexities of working across different systems and working with complex issues relating to the mental health of children, youth and/or families.Description:As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
