Your Opportunity:Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Care Manager of the Adult Community Services (ACS) 108 Street Clinic, the Mental Health Therapist (MHT) is primarily responsible for direct clinical service to clients using individual and/or group treatment within their competency and scope of practice. The MHT will provide screening, assessment, case management, treatment and outcome evaluation of individuals with mental health, substance use and/or behavioral health disorders or conditions. Individuals receiving treatment may also have social health needs or problems (social determinants of health) that require intervention and/or case management from the MHT. The MHT, in collaboration with the Care Manager, clinical supervisor, and interdisciplinary care team ensures that high quality clinical services are delivered safely and are aligned and compliant with AHS policy and procedures. Services are provided using an interdisciplinary model of care and adhere to the Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care for clients, families, and community partners. Positive client outcomes are achieved through engaging the client in a collaborative, co-created care plan, the use of effective interdisciplinary consultation, clinical outcome evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The MHT will work collaboratively with the client, family and significant others as identified by the client including the client\'s family physician. In the event the client does not have a family physician, the MHT will work to facilitate a connection to a family physician.Description:As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:Master\'s degree in Psychology; or master\'s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master\'s or bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master\'s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Diploma or bachelor\'s degree in nursing with a Related Master\'s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy OR Considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Despite any regulated authorization to perform the Restricted Activity of Psychosocial Intervention (Government Organization Act), a regulated member must be competent to perform the Restricted Activity of Psychosocial Intervention in accordance with the standards of practice of their regulatory college. Full Registration with respective regulatory College under the Health Professions Act. Registered Provisional Psychologist with an approved supervisor; an external supervisor may be considered. Employer required training including Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, current Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, and Suicide Risk Management. Minimum of three (3) years\' experience in a mental health therapist role or relevant mental health experience. working with clients who have complex mental health and/or substance use and addictive disorders and needs or problems related to social and occupational functioning. Preferred Qualifications:Training in general addiction and mental health assessment, evidence informed counselling methods or approaches, evidence-based psychotherapies, in substance use and other behavioral health conditions or disorders. in concurrent capable or enhanced behavioral and technical competencies. in the use of a diagnostic classification system (e.g., DSM -5, ICD).Please note:All postings close at 23:59 MT of the posting end date indicated.Security Screening:A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work.
