The Canadian Avalanche Association is looking for someone to take on the role of Membership Services Coordinator at our office in Revelstoke, B.C.

What\'s the Job?

The Membership Services position acts as the main point of contact for CAA members with the organization. Their role is to support the members and manage the member benefits the CAA provides. They support the membership application process and the annual membership renewal process. This position is integral in organizing and implementing the week-long Spring Conference and Continuing Professional Development sessions. They create and distribute a monthly membership newsletter and keep the members-only section of the website up to date.

The Membership Services Coordinator supports the CAA\'s partnership program, implementing agreements with partners and sponsors, managing the pro-purchase program and sourcing advertising for our publication, The Avalanche Journal.

This role also includes being the scribe for CAA Board of Director Meetings. This includes attending all Board meetings and the AGM, drafting agendas, taking minutes, and administering the processes around minute approval and publication.

The Membership Services position is a vital part of the CAA team and the part-time nature of this position lends itself to a healthy work/life balance.

This position will be hired for a start date of approximately December 11, 2023.

This is a year-round position of approximately 32 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.

Compensation: Wage range is $26.00 - $31.10 per hour (including vacation pay) based on experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ year\xe2\x80\x99s administrative experience
  • Ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, and manage complex logistics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong competency with core Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with corporate computer networks, file structures, email, mail merge etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Exceptional capacity for customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proven capacity for highly reliable and accurate performance
  • Professional
  • Clear criminal background check
Additional desired qualifications:
  • Event coordinator experience
  • Experience working with external partnerships
  • Knowledge of winter backcountry mountain recreation
  • CAA member in good standing
  • Ability to speak French
