Job Description

The Membership Sales Representative supports the expansion and engagement of the organization's membership base with a strong emphasis on outreach and external relationship-building activities. Working closely with the Membership Development Coordinator, this entry-level role involves actively connecting with potential members in the community, assisting in the planning and execution of outreach events, and nurturing existing member relationships. The ideal candidate is outgoing, proactive, and enthusiastic about meeting new people and promoting the value of membership.

Key Responsibilities



Outreach & Relationship Building:



Conduct outreach to prospective members through phone calls, email introductions, and in-person visits at community or industry events. Represent the organization at external events, conferences, and networking sessions to promote membership benefits. Assist in scheduling and coordinating presentations or informational sessions for potential member groups.

Community & Industry Engagement



Identify opportunities to engage with local businesses, other associations, and community groups to raise awareness of membership offerings. Help develop relationships with educational institutions, chambers of commerce, and community leaders to broaden membership reach.

Event Support:



Assist with planning and coordinating member and prospective member events, including open houses, mixers, and educational seminars. Provide on-site support at events, greeting attendees, answering inquiries, and gathering feedback. Help follow up with event participants to nurture leads and encourage membership sign-ups.

Promotional Activities:



Contribute ideas to marketing materials, outreach campaigns, and promotional strategies targeting new and diverse audiences. Support the development of outreach content such as flyers, brochures, and social media posts highlighting membership benefits and value.

Member Engagement & Retention:



Support the onboarding of new members by assisting with welcome communications and providing initial guidance. Assist with gathering feedback from existing members to improve engagement and satisfaction.

Qualifications

:

High school diploma required; completion of or enrollment in a post-secondary program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred. Entry-level position; prior experience in customer service, community outreach, or event support is an asset. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with comfort in meeting new people and representing the organization publicly. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while managing individual responsibilities. Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours for events and outreach activities. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); an interest in learning marketing and outreach tools.
