Our Position

The Project Manager, Meetings & Events will drive outstanding meeting and events planning services that are efficient and deliver value to AstraZeneca. They will have end to end accountability for internal and external meeting execution (face-to-face, virtual and hybrid), liaising with business owners, sourcing, and logistics partner to ensure success. This includes driving the planning process, leading planning discussions and driving timelines with business owners and external vendors.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management, problem solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills, and be able to work with little supervision. Candidates must be highly organized, flexible, thrive in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment, be willing to collaborate with other areas where needed and balance multiple projects with tight deadlines. They should understand the business objectives, culture and be able to keep up with evolving priorities. They will also contribute to broader organization programs and company goals.

Your role and responsibilities:

End-to-end accountability to plan and implement internal and external meetings (face-to face/virtual/hybrid) by working in collaboration with the business meeting owner and external partners for all aspects of a meeting, including site recommendations, production supplier recommendations, contract agreements, budgets, catering, creation and ownership of project plan, attendee management, travel arrangements, event agenda and on-site support

Provide strong project management with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels of organizations, both internal and external

Effectively manage external vendors and internal partners while establishing collaborative relationships

Understand the business priorities and AstraZeneca culture including regulations, policies and reporting requirements

Identify creative solutions to find cost saving opportunities while adapting to changing business needs, policies and laws

Be an actively engaged member of the broader GME(AZ Global Meetings and Events) team through best practices and knowledge sharing while managing awareness of GME process and procedures in the Canadian Market

Act as an engagement owner for AstraZeneca Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Meeting Management Companies (MMC); coordinating activities and providing support, direction and appropriate training to deliver on all meeting objectives

Travel to and support off-site event delivery and execution when required

Your qualifications include:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree

Project Management Professional (PMP\xc2\xae) certification

3 + Years Project Management experience, leading teams and driving performance through external suppliers

Proven track record to act independently and be resourceful in approach to problem solving Ability to deliver and remain resilient within a fast paced, dynamic, ambiguous, changing environment

Have a compliance mind-set with strong focus on adherence to industry guidelines, company policies and financial visibility

Demonstrated financial/budget proficiency

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation and influencing skills, collaboration, conflict management and social skills

Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Preferred

Bilingual (French/English)

Pharmaceutical meeting planning experience

3+ Years in Meeting management and/or Travel industry experience

Experience with virtual and/or hybrid events, sustainable meetings

Experience with meeting industry technology a plus (ex. CVENT, Meetings apps)

Certified Meeting Planning or Certified Meeting Management Certification

PMP Certification
