We are looking for a medical office assistant for an established clinic in St. Catharines with parking facilities. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, professional, efficient and organised team player. Duties involved include (but are not limited to):
-Scheduling patient appointments and confirming patient appointments
- Ability to work reliably under minimal supervision
-Checking-in patients at reception and updating demographic and health data
-Answering phone calls and voicemails and triaging appropriately
-Document scanning and processing faxes in a timely manner
-Arranging diagnostic tests, patient handouts, and referrals
-Liaising with other physicians' offices, pharmacies, and allied health providers, as required
-Updating pharmacy and physician contact numbers in the electronic medical record system
-Rooming patients when required
-Labelling specimens and requisitions and coordinating lab pick-ups.
-Receive mail and packages delivered to the office
-Recording patients communication in the EMR (Accuro familiarity is required)
Qualifications/Skills:
-Medical office assistant diploma and/or 2-years experience working in a specialist physician's office
-Previous experience with electronic medical record system (Accuro, Oscar)
-Experience with email and office suite
-Previous experience with rheumatology or internal medicine subspecialty is preferred
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Demonstrate organisation and critical thinking skills
- Work ethics and professional attitude
- Three reference letters from previous direct employers are required
Job Types: Two Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: around 20 per week vs 40 per week
Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour - depends previous educational qualifications and experience
