Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional front desk support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and the ability to manage patient interactions with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities



Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling as needed. Handle incoming calls on a multi-line phone system with excellent phone etiquette. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes, including CPT and ICD coding. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for documentation and patient management. Assist in the collection of payments and manage medical collections effectively. Review care plans and ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence related to patient care. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth operations within the clinic or hospital setting.

Experience



Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic environment is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and health information management practices is essential. Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar software is highly desirable. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication services. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are required. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries effectively while maintaining confidentiality.
