We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems, ensuring smooth patient interactions and efficient office workflow.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
Manage incoming calls using office phone systems, directing inquiries to appropriate staff members.
Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar efficiently.
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
Process patient forms and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
Assist with billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
Ensure the front desk area is organized, clean, and welcoming for patients.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication regarding patient care.
Experience
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical or dental office is preferred.
Familiarity with Dentrix software and Epic electronic medical records is a plus.
Strong understanding of medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
