Your Opportunity:

This casual MRT II position performs CT and General radiology examinations in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required.

Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in technical skills and radiation safety required. Good work ethic and positive attitude necessary. Must have excellent organizational, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. Ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Must be able to demonstrate interest in professional growth. Excellent perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy required. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff, and Physicians. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a hospital setting as a Gen Rad and/or CT Technologist within the last 3 years is preferred. CT experience is preferred. IV Certification and CT courses I, II, III would be an asset. CTIC Certification preferred.
