We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eye care and providing exceptional patient service. We have team focused approach to care and all members of the team will assist each other in optimizing office efficiencies and patient experience.

Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary eye function testing including visual acuity, color vision, and lensometry
- Assist ophthalmologists in patient care by taking patient histories, explaining procedures and assisting in minor office procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual field testing, OCT scans, and biometry.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records, Proficiency in MS office is an asset.
- Help book patients, bill, schedule appointments, pull charts
Willing to train on specific equipment and technology if required.
Skills
- Experience in an optical or medical office setting
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, preferably Practice Solutions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is a plus
