Position: Part-Time Medical Office Assistant
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Hourly Rate: $20.00 (CAD)
Schedule:
Regular hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM
Occasional need for an additional 3-hour shift on a weekday (as needed)
Role Overview
As a crucial part of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional administrative support and ensuring smooth operations in our Edmonton Office. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, organization, multitasking, and professionalism. You will play an active role in patient support - acting as a chaperone during independent medical examinations, and helping maintain a welcoming, tidy reception area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Communication & Correspondence
Handle phone and email inquiries with professionalism and clarity--particularly when contacting law firm clients and patients.
Being highly mindful of the privacy and confidentiality of patient data and information.
Draft, proofread, and send well-written emails for various purposes (appointment confirmations, sending Confirmation Letters, etc.).
2. Patient Support
Serve as a chaperone for patients during Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs).
Tidy and sanitize examination room before and after appointments--ensuring a professional environment.
Exhibit excellent time management and punctuality - Essential for patient chaperoning.
3. Administrative & Technical Skills
Utilize MS Office with strong proficiency in Excel (e.g., creating and managing patient scheduling chart).
Perform standard front desk tasks: faxing, scanning, photocopying, filing, and record upkeep.
Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication.
Strong MS Office skills--especially Excel (formulas, charts, scheduling tools).
Proven ability to multitask, stay highly organized, and adhere to schedules.
Comfortable serving as a patient chaperone during medical examinations.
Competence in front desk operations--faxing, scanning, photocopying.
Reliable, punctual, professional, and committed to office hygiene.
Eligible to legally work in Canada.
