Our 60+ Endocrinologists, many of whom are nationally renowned for their areas of expertise, are supported by an interdisciplinary team of highly qualified Medical Office Administrators, Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Optometrists, Opticians, Optical Assistants, Chiropodists, Podiatrists and Clinical Research Professionals. Currently, our growing team is looking for a Medical Office Administrator \xe2\x80\x93 Referrals Administrator who can work for us on a permanent full-time basis supporting our Head Office location in Toronto. Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to LMC\xe2\x80\x99s Care Promise.
  • Sort all incoming referrals based on LMC clinic and requested physician as specified as well as allocation by diagnosis.
  • Review each referral and determine urgency based on set criteria.
  • Forward referrals for potential study determination.
  • Ensure all required medical documentation is provided and when necessary, request additional information necessary for patient appointment.
  • Address referral requests and maintain consistent communication/processes with referring physicians.
  • Book and re-schedule all new patient appointments.
  • Respond to patient and physician inquiries regarding referrals.
  • Enter all referrals into referral tracking system.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and initiatives.
  • Communicate with Medical Office Administration across all clinics to ensure effective referral processing.
  • In collaboration with site administrators, reserve and update the physicians\' schedules as required for booking efficiencies.
  • Perform various administrative functions, such as, but not limited to, faxing, scanning, photocopying; execute any other duties, as required.
  • Respond to all telephone inquiries; retrieve and return messages daily.
  • Liaise with medical laboratories/physician offices to retrieve appropriate patient documentation.
  • Manage of all patient appointments appropriately.
  • Other administrative duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of Medical Office Experience and/or Medical Office Assistant Diploma
  • Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system (knowledge of Accuro is considered an asset).
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills with the goal of helping patients access services to improve their health.
