The MDR Technician working in the MDR Department is directly responsible to the Clinical Manager, Surgical Program or delegate. The MDR Technician also works closely with the Quality Assurance and Equipment Coordinator for the Surgical Program.

REQUIREMENTS:




Minimum of a one (1) year Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) certificate from an accredited educational institution Being an active member of the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario (MDRAO) would be considered an asset Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a relevant area Previous experience in MDR department an asset Capable of strenuous activity Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, communication skills and ability to multitask and prioritize Relate in a respectful, tactful and sensitive manner with patients, staff and physicians Flexibility to modify routines as required to manage changing priorities Ability to adapt to new technology and a fast-paced environment. Strong multitasking and organizational abilities. Proficiency in both written and verbal communication. Participates in departmental quality assurance activities Maintains patient records in accordance with department guidelines Adheres to the Hospital's confidentiality policies Provides feedback as required, responds to constructive feedback and takes necessary action to improve performance Performs other duties as assigned by higher authority and which are unplanned, or of a transient nature and are consistent with the job purpose and duties. Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement. Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
