The Media and Marketing Officer role require the post-holder to support the execution of marketing campaigns and communications of Action for Humanity Canada across a variety of channels including social media, email, online and print. They will contribute to the creation and dissemination of digital marketing, website content, social media marketing, email marketing and print marketing.
Accountabilities
To maintain plan and create engaging social media content
Ensure our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn communities receive a high level of support through effective moderation and strong community management
To support the content development and maintenance of the website including copy-writing, updating images/videos and advertising/fundraising campaigns.
Evaluate and review marketing campaigns, advertising and SEO to make sure the campaigns are effective
Produce written content for online platforms and print marketing
Write, edit and proofread marketing material for use across a range of channels
Undertake market research and establish the best way to reach target groups
Contribute to the communications and marketing planning across the whole organisation
Design and implement direct email marketing campaigns ensuring they are accurate and mobile friendly
Use analytics to monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities
Liaise with designers and printers to arrange effective distribution and printing of marketing materials.
Work Environment
90% indoors / office based/WFH
10% outdoors / travel / events / work trips etc.
Job Requirements
Education
Degree / HND in relevant field i.e., Marketing, Media, Journalism and/or Certificate in Professional Marketing
Professional Fluency in English & preferably French
Experience
1-2 years in a similar role
Experience in the voluntary/ charity sector (desirable)
Experience running successful marketing campaigns
Experience in using content management systems and social media tools.
Project management experience
Experience using digital design software such as Adobe InDesign/ Photoshop/ Illustrator (desirable)
Skills
Knowledge of CRM tools e.g. Google AdWords, Analytics
In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and databases
In-depth knowledge of social media
Understanding of paid social
Understanding of advanced marketing principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Substantial experience in copywriting and editing particularly for online channels
A good understanding of what makes a website successful and accessible
Languages
Strong written and spoken English essential
French (desirable)
