If you thrive in a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same, this role might be perfect for you.As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment, specifically focusing on pumps and related systems. You will work alongside experienced technicians to ensure the efficient operation of water treatment facilities. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and assisting with pump installations.Responsibilities:Maintenance and Repair:

  • Maintain and repair yard and field water treatment equipment, primarily pumps and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot yard and field issues related to pump performance, leaks, and malfunctions.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
Installation and Upgrades:
  • Assist in the installation and replacement of pumps and related components.
  • Collaborate with team leads during pump system upgrades or modifications.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Report any abnormalities or safety concerns promptly.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other team members, including mechanics, operators, and field technicians.
  • Assist in training staff members as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with pumps and associated equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Emergency Response:
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents related to pump systems.
  • Take appropriate actions to prevent disruptions in water treatment processes.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
  • Construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical systems preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of pump mechanics, hydraulics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and measurement instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in various conditions.
Experience:
  • Prior experience as an apprentice or in a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Forklift and excavator experience is a benefit.
Schedule:
  • 8-hour shift with potential for a 4 x 10 schedule.
  • Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM.
  • Extended and overtime hours may be required.
