Transdev is now hiring multiple Red Seal Heavy Duty, Automotive or Commercial mechanics for our Kamloops, British Columbia location!We are seeking permanent, full-time mechanics. We are also offering a competitive hourly rate starting at $41.99/hr!Your role:

• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust or replace parts using hand and power tools.
• Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately and maintain records of all maintenance work.
• Notify supervisors of dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken, and report major safety observations.
• Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
• Move vehicles safely between job and work areas and perform test drives to ensure proper performance.
• Service engines and work on transmissions, fuel injection, hydraulics, and electronics.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Train staff as required and assist with toolbox meetings.
• Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes, and write detailed inspection reports and repair plans.
• Adhere to Transdev's standards, policies and procedures.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.

Your profile:

• Red Seal Heavy Duty, Automotive or Commercial mechanic certification is preferred (Apprentices accepted, 3rd and 4th year preferred).
• You have a Class 5 (BC) Drivers License with Air Endorsement.
• You have a CVIP Inspection certificate (essential).
• Level 1 First Aid (Or willingness to acquire within 3 months of hire).
• Compression Gas Certification (Or willingness to acquire within 3 months of hire).
• You have an appropriate mechanicxe2x80x99s tool set.
• You have advanced problem-solving ability.
• You have advanced computer skills.
• You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• You are able to work assigned shifts.

Your location:

• This is a unionized position in Kamloops, BC.
• The work schedule is 40 hrs a week.
• Shifts may vary across all 7 days of the week, with schedules ranging from 4 days on, 3 days off (10-hour shifts).
