Alliance Fabricating Ltd. Mechanical/Civil Engineering Technician Position Description: The Mechanical/Civil Engineering Technician will join the engineering team and work closely with Design Engineers to produce high quality product design/fabrication drawings and documentation. Fabrication activities take place in-house and the technician has the opportunity to see the products they\xe2\x80\x99ve worked on before delivery to clients. Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Read and interpret drawings. \xc2\xb7 Participate in project kick-offs and scope-change meetings to interpret client standards and fabrication requirements. \xc2\xb7 Create layouts, associative assemblies, and detailed AutoCAD drawings from client sketches, notes or direction from Design Engineers such as: o Weldment assemblies o CNC machining detail specifications o Mechanical assembly drawings o Packaging assembly drawings \xc2\xb7 Produce Bills of Materials and supporting documentation. \xc2\xb7 Maintain & update AFL\xe2\x80\x99s AutoCAD library. \xc2\xb7 Visit fabrication plant as needed to reconcile drawings. Minimum Requirements: \xc2\xb7 University degree or College diploma in mechanical/civil or engineering. \xc2\xb7 1-3 years of AutoCAD drafting experience. \xc2\xb7 Reading and writing in English. \xc2\xb7 Able to read a measuring tape. \xc2\xb7 Be mechanically inclined.
