With a proud history of delivering complex projects to the oil and gas industry, we are looking for talented individuals to help us shape the path towards a sustainable energy future.Our Construction Team in St. John\'s, NL is now looking for a Mechanical Technician to support our Offshore operations.What will you be doing?As a Mechanical Technician you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and disassembly of varied mechanical/piping systems and equipment in accordance with established specifications and work instructions, this includes;

• Execute tasks, as outlined in technical documents, including the installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and removal of mechanical systems and components in compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and procedures.
• Interpret technical documents to assess and plan task sequences, required materials, and selection of appropriate tools and PPE, requesting clarification when necessary.
• Install, modify,and maintain structural and architectural equipment and components.
• Perform work in a remote offshore location with a requirement to work in confined spaces, work from heights, in hazardous EX rated areas near operating equipment
• Work collaboratively in a multi-discipline team environment, focused on the efficient and safe completion of all assigned tasks including reporting of daily work progress to supervision
• Take an active role in maintaining a safe work environment through participation in all HSSE programs and initiatives including, but not limited to, toolbox talks, safety observations, job hazard analysis, and ensuring personal compliance with all site rules and procedures.
• Ensure all required training, certification, and medical assessments for continued competency in role are maintained and completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure a continued commitment to meet all other requirements set out by Aker Solutions and/or our clients/vendors.

We think you should have:

• Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certificate - Millwright / Industrial Mechanic, Steamfitter/Pipefitter, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• 5 years\' experience as a journeyperson or MET
• All mandatory training and fitness for work as outlined in the CAAP Standard Practice for the Training and Qualifications of Offshore Personnel
• Must work collaboratively in a multi-discipline team environment, focused on the efficient and safe completion of all assigned tasks including reporting of daily work progress to supervision
• Ability to work in a remote offshore location with a requirement to work in confined spaces, work from heights, in hazardous EX rated areas.
