We design, manufacture, and install all kinds of material handling equipment in manufacturing facilities throughout the GTA and South-Central Ontario.
is responsible for supervising the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and mechanical systems on active construction sites and industrial facilities. This role also interfaces with customers to identify upcoming work, prepare quotes for time and material jobs, and supports project planning and execution.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
:
Mechanical Supervision
Supervise and coordinate the daily work of millwright crews on industrial and construction sites.
Oversee and support with the installation, alignment, and commissioning of machinery, conveyors, pumps, compressors, motors, gearboxes, and other heavy mechanical equipment.
Develop and maintain job schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely project execution.
Ensure all mechanical work is carried out to spec, code, and safety standards.
Perform inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical issues and coordinate necessary repairs.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, production, electrical and other trades to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into boarder construction projects.
Perform welding and fabrication work to modify or customize machinery components or repair damaged parts.
Assist in the installation, alignment, assembly, and removal of industrial machinery and mechanical components.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols when handling machinery and equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory, and oversee procurement of necessary materials.
Train and mentor millwrights and apprentices, ensuring continual development and performance improvement.
Ensure machinery complies with industry standards and regulations.
Enforce compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company and customer policies on all job sites.
Project Management
Visit customer sites to assess needs and determine the scope of work.
Develop detailed time and material estimates for quoted work.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster repeat business and identify new opportunities.
Coordinate manpower, materials, and timelines for upcoming jobs.
Monitor progress and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Communicate regularly with internal teams and clients to keep all stakeholders informed.
Qualifications, Skills and Attitude
:
5+ year's experience in industrial installations and/or industrial project management
Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) license
Knowledge of manufacturing industry regulations, standards and practices
Experience with welding, rigging, hoisting, machining, and precision alignment techniques.
Strong blueprint reading skills and knowledge of machinery layout and mechanical drawings.
Solid understanding of industrial safety protocols, especially in construction environments.
Ability to lead a team effectively while meeting project deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficient in quoting and estimating mechanical work, especially time and material jobs.
Safety focus. Adhere to company and customer safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and actively participate in safety training and hazard prevention practices. Ensure that applicable OHSA legislation and Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to by all workers at all times.
