NEP is currently recruiting for a

Mechanical Engineering Technologist

to join the engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to build internal customer relationships at various levels within the organization. This position is based out of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The Mechanical Engineering Technologist will be responsible for preparing engineering fabrication packages and other process documentation for the manufacturing of heavy custom fabrications. They will be responsible for creating SolidWorks models and drawings from rough sketches and specifications as well as completing material take-offs. The successful candidate must work in conjunction with Sales and Quality Assurance to create and sustain a positive, high-energy continuous improvement environment while meeting customer schedules and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work in an Engineering environment with other designers in collaboration with a team of Professional Engineers and Technologists.

Assist NEP's engineering team with Billable and Capital projects as required.

Generate conceptual designs as well as detailed drawing packages/BOMs.

Design jigs/fixtures and other mechanical components to improve/automate plant operations.

Create/review project documents, e.g., procedures, technical specifications etc.

Liaison effectively with NEP's vendors, suppliers and clients.

Position Requirements:

3-5 years experience

in

Custom Fabrication/ Design for Fabrication

; experience in

Nuclear

industry will be an asset

Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma (Mechanical)

or equivalent.

Ability to model in CAD and to produce technical drawings of company products; Experience in

SolidWorks and PDM

Vault is a must

Experience in generating

BOMs, Production Orders

, Navigating

ERP

systems

Experience in preparing

procedures

and

specifications

Knowledge of common Manufacturing Processes (

Welding/Machining/Assembly

),

Design/Drafting

(

GD&T

)

Experience in generating BOMs, Production Orders, Navigating ERP systems

Knowledge of

ASME and CSA

codes and standards will be considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.13-$43.00 per hour
