Position Description



The Mechanical production technologist would report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining part drawings, managing Bill of Materials (BOM), and driving process automation initiatives within the mechanical engineering domain. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, BOM management systems, and process optimization techniques to improve efficiency and accuracy in production

Responsibilities



Represent Delta's core values of

Follow Delta Elevator policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, and Health & Safety Manual guidelines. Create, modify, and maintain detailed part and assembly drawings and technical specifications using CAD software. Ensure all drawings comply with Delta standards and quality requirements. Manage the integration of mechanical designs into the ERP system to ensure accuracy. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to part designs, material specifications, and automation processes. Update work in progress to correct any identified issues. Develop, maintain, and update the Bill of Materials (BOM) for Delta's product lines, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Ensure BOM structure is aligned with company standards and is fully integrated with the ERP system. Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements to automate routine engineering tasks that improve speed, reduce errors, and increase efficiency. Design and optimize workflows to eliminate redundancies and enhance productivity across the engineering and production departments. Assist with the integration of automated systems and technologies into existing processes. Actively participate in process reviews and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications & Skills



2-5 years experience in a mechanical/manufacturing field Proficient in AutoDesk Inventor 3D (or similar) and AutoCad. Graduate of a 3 year Engineering/Manufacturing Technologists program Eligibility for OACETT certification Excellent communication skills including oral and written communication Strong organizations skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (Python, VBA, etc.) for process optimization.
