The Position:



We're looking for a

Mechanical Estimator

to join our growing team. In this role, you'll focus on estimating and project coordination for

plastic and steel tanks, steelwork frames, and pipework systems

. You'll be interpreting

mechanical drawings and fabrication specifications

, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting projects from quote through to delivery.

mechanical estimating, manufacturing, or fabrication workflows

and enjoy working closely with clients and technical teams, this could be the right fit for you.

What You Will Do:



Prepare detailed cost estimates for

plastic and steel fabrication projects

, including tanks, pipework, and frames. Review and interpret

mechanical and shop drawings, specifications, and fabrication details

. Coordinate with engineering, drafting, and production teams to ensure projects are aligned with scope, quality, and timelines. Support procurement of materials and subcontractors as needed. Maintain accurate project files, estimates, and supporting documents. Build strong client relationships by providing accurate and timely estimates, ensuring client confidence in project delivery. Participate in project reviews and support problem-solving where scope or costs need refinement. Maintain files and working documents, contract administration Management of documentation for Engineering and Quality for delivery to customers Entry level engineering involvement in job planning Other projects or tasks as required

What You Bring:



Post-secondary education in

Mechanical Engineering

or related field (equivalent experience considered). 1-3 years' experience in

mechanical estimating

or

fabrication/manufacturing estimating

. Strong ability to interpret

mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and fabrication shop drawings

. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel in particular) and familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar). Knowledge of

fabrication workflows, plastics/steel manufacturing processes, and pipework systems

. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management. Client-focused approach with strong communication skills.
