Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Project Estimator

to join our growing steel fabrication and construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, with the ability to accurately analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to prepare competitive bids. This role requires strong proficiency with estimating tools such as

Bluebeam

and

HeavyBid

, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure projects are delivered profitably and on time.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret

blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

to determine scope of work and required materials. Prepare

detailed cost estimates

, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Use

Bluebeam

for document review/quantity takeoffs and

HeavyBid

(or similar software) for accurate cost estimating. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to develop

budgets, schedules, and bid proposals

. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes, negotiating favorable pricing and terms. Track and analyze project costs, updating estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in preparing formal bid submissions and proposals for clients. Support the project team in

change order pricing

, budget adjustments, and cost forecasting.

Requirements

Proven experience as a

Project Estimator

in steel fabrication, construction, or a related industry. Strong understanding of

construction estimating principles, fabrication processes, and industry standards

. Proficiency with

Bluebeam

and estimating software such as

HeavyBid

(or equivalent). Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent

negotiation and communication abilities

for supplier and subcontractor management. Ability to

multi-task, meet deadlines, and work both independently and in a team environment

. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Pay: $44,140.37-$87,720.75 per year
