Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity? We\'re recruiting a Mechanical Engineer, Static Equipment in Fort McMurray.
In this role, you will provide mechanical engineering support relating to static equipment fitness.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in static equipment inspection, maintenance and design
A Bachelors\xe2\x80\x99 degree in Mechanical Engineering
Must be a registered Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer or eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)
An extensive knowledge of commonly used design and fabrication codes including post construction specifications for pressure vessels, furnaces, heat exchangers, and process piping
Knowledge of and experience using mechanical design tools for static equipment including PV Elite, CAESAR II stress analysis, and others, to support design verification and FFS assessment
Knowledge of materials engineering including Refractory to aid the assessment of suitable material selection and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
Provide general mechanical engineering support relating to static equipment fitness for service (FFS) assessment, repair specifications, re-rate assessment, failure investigation, purchase specification and equipment strategies support to site operating units
Preparation of high quality engineering packages for both turnaround and running units.
Provide input into shutdown scope development based on previous history and known future issues
Provide improvements to plant operation and reliability through innovative engineering and resolve root cause performance problems with static pressure equipment
Work collaboratively with other disciplines which includes inspections, materials engineering, process, operations, and maintenance to resolve plant reliability issues
Responsible for achieving code compliance and obtaining regulatory design approvals
Provide mentorship to other mechanical engineers in authenticating specification deviations and engineering packages
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of a Syncrude location in Fort McMurray
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
